In order to cut greenhouse gases, Fiat Chrysler (FCA) is in talks with other car manufacturers to share the costs of developing new vehicles and technology, CEO Sergio Marchionne said.
“I think (automakers’) costs … (are) well in excess of what I consider a mature industry to be able to afford,” Marchionne said.

The company has also requested the US to ease fuel economy targets for 2025, Reuters reported. The US government has said that by 2025, vehicles should average 54.5 miles per gallon of petrol.
Meanwhile, Fiat Chrysler aims to sell over 5m vehicles in 2015, and also expects to 2014 results to fall in line with the guidance.
