MMV already assembles CKD Outlanders and is planning to expand its production capacity with the start of Xpander production.
Sales of the model have been increasing throughout southeast Asia since autumn 2017 when assembly and sales in Indonesia began.
The Xpander was released in Vietnam in October 2018 and MMV sold 14,000 units in Vietnam in fiscal year 2018, doubling sales year on year.
MMC began operations in Vietnam when the country's automotive industry began taking shape in 1994, partnering with Mitsubishi Corporation and Vietnamese firms to establish the production and sales company that preceded MMV.
MMV has become one of the key enterprises supporting MMC's growth strategy in the ASEAN region.
