SRG Global has opened the expansion of its Irapuato, Mexico facility that will support the company’s continuing production of coatings on plastics.
Company officials were joined by members of the State, local government officials, as well as customer and other community partners to commemorate the occasion.

The expansion added 20,000-square-metres to the existing 21,000-square-metre facility and houses a new chrome plating line.
The new line is expected to take the total number of employees at the facility to around 500 people at full production.
“On behalf of SRG Global, I want to thank the local community and the state of Guanajuato for their ongoing support and collaboration on the expansion project,” said Javier Sánchez, plant manager of the Irapuato facility.”
For his part, SRG Global president and CEO, Dave Prater added: “The state of Guanajuato has helped make it possible for us to continue creating value for society as well as for the local communities in and around the Irapuato facility.”

The Irapuato facility will continue producing exterior and interior trim assemblies, as well as subsystems for global automakers.
Since first starting production in 2012, it has supplied parts for more than 1m vehicles and is expected to double that figure by the end of 2017.
