French car-maker Peugeot is to upgrade its office in Mexico to a subsidiary next year, writes Reforma/Infolatina (28/11/00). Peugeot is reportedly grooming a team of managers in Chile to run this new subsidiary. The company is also considering building a production facility in Mexico, with either San Luis Potosi or Monterrey reportedly being looked at as possible sites.

All of Peugeot’s vehicles currently sold in Mexico are imported from Chile,
