Mexican automobile production has reached record levels, with year-to-August output at 1.24 million cars and light trucks, up 24.9 percent from the year-ago period, according to the Mexican Auto Industry Association (AMIA, as a Spanish acronym).
August output for the domestic market was 38,324 vehicles, up 17.5 percent from the year-ago period, AMIA said. Year-to-August accumulated production for the domestic market was 285, 324 vehicles, up 8.2 percent from the year-ago period, with car production up 9.9 percent and light truck output 2.9 percent, said AMIA.
