MAN Nutzfahrzeuge has announced that it has opened a new assembly plant in Mexico, near the town of Queretaro. The plant will build coaches and buses.

MAN has been in Brazil since 2004, represented by MAN Ferrostaal. It assembled 319 buses from CKD kits in Mexico in 2005, and 100 a year earlier.


MAN Ferrostaal will continue to represent MAN truck and bus sales and will also expand its sales and service network to 16 outlets. It estimates there are around 1,000 MAN trucks and buses on the road in Mexico at present.


According to finanzen.net, MAN has a 40% share of the bus chassis market.
