El Universal online reports that Ford will temporarily shut its Hermosillo plant due to slow demand for its Escort and Focus models. The report says that the plant will close over the period Jan 28-Feb 8.

The Hermosillo plant “will not operate due to lower orders for its Escort and Focus models,” the company was quoted as saying.
Production at the plant was also halted on multiple occasions during the final quarter of last year, in response to low orders.
