FCA has added a new model for the Mexican market’s 2015 model year: the RAM 700. This small pick-up is a rebadged Fiat Strada Adventure and is imported from Brazil.

With Fiat having discontinued the Strada pick-up in the Mexican market, its model range now consists of the F500 (500 in other countries), Palio Essence (five-door), Palio Adventure (wagon) and Uno. The F500 is built locally, while the other vehicles are made in Brazil.

The new RAM model will not be sold in the US or Canada and should in fact have a short lifecycle in Mexico, as the original is due for replacement in Brazil during 2016. Both it and the Strada should be succeeded by vehicles based on the new Jeep Renegade and Fiat 500X.

The RAM 700, which comes with a standard 1.6-litre petrol engine, is manufactured alongside the Brazilian market’s Fiat Strada at the Betim plant near the city of Belo Horizonte.
