Ford’s Director of Public Relations (Mexico) said Focus 2000 model components set to be replaced in a recall announced earlier this week have no safety functions, writes Reforma/Infolatina (20/10/00).

Antonio Garcia Sobrino said that the reason behind the recall and replacement was to improve the attributes of the Ford Focus vehicles.

Quoting Sobrino, Reforma/Infolatina reports that the problem is linked to the metal frame between the door and the windshield. The interior and exterior detailing is what will be replaced, neither of which has any safety function, says Sobrino.
