Mercedes-Benz announced it plans to launch ten new and facelifted passenger vehicles in South Korea in 2026, as the German luxury automaker looks to strengthen its line-up of electrified vehicles in one of Asia’s largest imported vehicle markets.

Mercedes-Benz Korea’s CEO, Mathias Vaitl, confirmed that his company plans to introduce four new models based on new-generation platforms, including the all-new battery-powered and hybrid CLA sedans, and the new battery-powered GLC and GLB SUVs. The company also plans to launch six facelifted versions of existing models.

Mathias Vaitl pointed out that this year’s launches represent “the biggest product launch programme in Mercedes-Benz’s history,” as the company celebrates its 140th anniversary – marking founder Karl Benz’s patenting of the first vehicle in 1886. The company also plans to launch special edition models this year to celebrate the occasion.

Mercedes-Benz Korea said it also plans to roll out the company’s new ‘Retail of the Future’ sales model this year, which aims to standardize inventory levels and prices across the dealer network. This model has already been implemented in major markets across Europe.

Mercedes-Benz’s sales in South Korea increased by 3% to 68,467 units last year, making it the country’s second best-selling import brand after BMW, with the E-Class its best-selling model range with 28,700 deliveries.
