Daimler's Mercedes-Benz boosted sales 5.3% year on year to sell 209,058 cars in November, a record for the month.

Unit sales increased 1.4% year to date and last full year's sales have been exceeded in the three largest markets: China, Germany and the US.

Compact cars and SUVs drove growth thanks to the A-Class Saloon, B-Class, GLC and GLE.

In the first 11 months of the year, Mercedes-Benz claimed leadership in the premium segment in markets including Germany, UK, France, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, Poland, Denmark, Portugal, Turkey, South Korea, Japan, Australia, Thailand, Canada and South Africa.

Europe sales crept up 0.1% to 82,123 cars with YTD volume up 0.6%.

German sales rose 5.8% to 30,872 last month and 5.1% YTD.

Asia-Pacific sales up 11% to 83,652 units set a record. China sales also rose 11% to 57,901 and 6.3% YTD to 640,933.

NAFTA deliveries increased last month by 7.7% to 38,601 units. US growth was 8.7% to 33,721.

Smart sales YTD were down 10.9% to 105,600 vehicles.
