Mazda Motor global sales declined by just over 25% year on year to 557,264 units in the first half of 2020, after an 11% drop in June to 108,343 units, the company reported.
Domestic sales fell by 14% to 89,330 units in the first six months of the year while overseas sales were down by 27% to 168,824 units, driven lower by a more than 48% drop to 72,911 units in Europe.

Sales in the US fell by just 7% at 128,869 units while in China they were down by 8.5% at 97,330 units.
Meanwhile, Honda reported separately its global production fell by almost 34% to 1,774,207 units in the first half of the year, with domestic output down by almost 22% at 369,251 units.
Outside Japan, output fell by almost 37% to 1,404,956 units, driven lower by an almost 55% drop in European production to 26,293 units, while volumes in North America were down by 41% at 576,340 units; and China 604,599 units (-18.6%).
