Malaysia’s UMW Toyota Motor plans to spend up to MYR500m (US$153m) to expand its dealer and aftersales network to meet growing demand for Toyota and Lexus vehicles.
The company will use the money to refurbish and upgrade its current network of about 100 outlets and build new ones. This year, two new Toyota and two Lexus dealerships are scheduled to become operational.

The company expects to sell over 100,000 vehicles in Malaysia this year, equivalent to 15% of the local market, while its aftersales operations are expected to service 1.25m paying customers.
