New vehicle sales in Malaysia increased 12.7% year on year to a new monthly high of 63,265 units, according to data released by the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA).
The association attributes this latest rise, which followed a flat year on year performance in February, to buyers bringing forward purchases in anticipation of possible stock shortages as a result of last month’s earthquakes in Japan.
