New vehicle sales in Malaysia increased by 5.9% to 55,313 units in November, from 52,252 units in the same month last year, according to the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA).

Passenger vehicle sales increased by 6.3% to 48,622 units, helped by the recent launch of new models such as the Perodua Axia and Proton Iriz. Commercial vehicle sales increased by 2.9% to 6,691 units.

Overall vehicle sales in the first 11 months of the year were 1.1% higher at 601,805 units, compared with 595,300 units previously.
