Malaysia's new vehicle market rebounded by 14.3% to 48,553 units in July, from 42,471 units in the same month of last year, according to data released by the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA).
This followed a sharp decline in June with buying activity in the country disrupted by the annual Hari Raya Muslim holidays which fall a month earlier every year.

The economy strengthened in the first half of the year, with GDP growth estimated at 5.5% compared with 4.5% in the fourth quarter of 2016 – reflecting stronger domestic consumption and export growth.
Sales of passenger vehicles amounted to 43,527 units last month, with commercial vehicles accounting for the remaining 5,026 units.
In the first seven months of the year, sales increased by 4.7% to 333,010 units, from 317,966 sales in the same period of last year.
Vehicle production in the country rose by 12% to 43,952 units in July, but was down by less than 1% at 299,270 units in the first seven months of the year.
