Malaysia’s first national car company, Proton Holdings, reported a 27% year on year increase in third quarter sales to 43,260 units, helped largely by the introduction of the Saga SV compact saloon in June.

Sales of the new model amounted to 22,000 units in the June-October four-month period, helped by its competitive pricing – with the entry-level 1.5L manual model starting at MYR33,348 (US$10,520).
