Proton Holdings has announced changes to its board of directors to reflect its expanding manufacturing presence in Asia, according to a company statement.

Personnel changes will be made at group and subsidiary level, to help it focus on the acquisition and development of new technologies and to help drive expansion across Asia.

The company recently began assembly of vehicles in China and is negotiating a local assembly tie-up in India with the Hero group.

The company said board changes are not unusual as they reflect the evolving requirements of the group.

The latest changes come days after group chairman Datuk Mohd Nadzmi Mohd Salleh said he would announce the outcome of the long-standing alliance talks with Germany‘s Volkswagen in early June.
