Honda Malaysia has doubled capacity at its Pegoh factory in Alor Gajah, Melaka, to 100,000 units with the addition of a second assembly line.

The company also plans to increase local content to around 70% (from 30%-40% now) as its tries to compete more effectively in Malaysia.

Currently, the company assembles City, Civic, CR-V, Accord and Jazz models at Pegoh and the additional capacity is intended to help it achieve its sales target of 100,000 units annually by 2016.
