Citroen
will build its Frankfurt motor show debutant, the new C3 hatchback, in Malaysia
from next year, AutoAsia Online reported. The company stopped local assembly
in the middle of last year and has since imported fully assembled Xsara and
Berlingo models.

AutoAsia Online said that local distributor Directional Malaysia, part of the
DRB-Hicom Group, recently launched the luxury C5 model in Malaysia and indicated
it plans to build the smaller C3 five-door hatchback at the AMM plant in Pekan,
possibly with a 1.4-litre engine.
