Total September sales, including commercial vehicles, jumped 14.7% to 50,391 units from 43,923 in the same month last year, the Malaysian Automotive Association said in a statement cited by Reuters.

The association said the higher sales were helped by delivery of recently launched models and aggressive marketing campaigns but added consumer sentiment could remain cautious pending the release of new auto tariffs, expected soon, the news agency noted.
