German automotive parts maker Mahle has launched its latest service unit, E-CARE Fluid, in Europe, for vehicle cooling maintenance.
This innovative solution facilitates the maintenance of cooling circuits in vehicles across all drive types.
The company said the unit allows for the automated emptying and refilling of the coolant circuit, especially during high-voltage battery repairs or component replacements.
Additionally, mechanics have the capability to inspect the circuit for any leaks using a combined vacuum and pressure examination.
Mahle management committee member and lifecycle and mobility business unit head Philipp Grosse Kleimann said: “Whether workshops, fleet managers or reconditioners – with our new service device E-CARE Fluid we get our customers ready for the service of electric vehicles.”
E-CARE Fluid is equipped with two tanks. One tank collects drained coolant for reuse, while the other produces a coolant mixture according to manufacturer specifications, refilling the circuit automatically.

Mahle lifecycle and mobility service solutions director Felix-Matthias Walter added: “Regularly changing coolant is crucial to ensure the efficiency of the cooling circuit. This is particularly important for electric and hybrid vehicles as the traction battery is very sensitive to temperature fluctuations.”
There is also a service unit which guides mechanics through maintenance and leak testing via a 7-inch touch screen.
An integrated database for electric vehicles provides crucial information on coolant types, cooling systems, and vehicle-specific test pressures.
The unit also supports a manual procedure for hybrid and internal combustion engine vehicles.
Each E-CARE Fluid unit comes with an accessory case containing approximately 20 adapters, catering to various vehicle types.
The touch screen indicates the appropriate adapter for each vehicle, the company added.
