Magna Seating has started production in a new brownfield plant in the Serbian municipality of Aleksinac.

Serbia Prime Minister, Ana Brnabic visited the new facility, where 100 people are already employed, with a further 1,000 posts to be added in the future.

The first phase of investment in Aleksinac has been reconstructing a brownfield location, as well as employing the first 100 people, who were previously trained in Magna’s factory in Odzaci, also in Serbia.

The next phase of a project is to build a new, greenfield, production hall and to employ around 1,000 people.

Magna has been present in Serbia for six years and in Odzaci, has a seat trim facility, producing for many automotive brands.

During the visit to the new factory, Prime Minister Brnabic highlighted how investors already present in Serbia, have reinvested in the country.
