Geely's Lynk & Co has launched a new SUV model which it said would bring a high value car experience to a global young urban population.
Lynk & Co is the premium auto brand established in 2016 by Geely Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Company, with sales of 87,192 units in the first eight months of 2020, up by over 15% year on year.
The automaker said China's main vehicle buying group is becoming younger and it was using the upmarket Lynk & Co brand to target wealthier Generation Z customers – people born after 1995 – by catering to rising demand for personalised products and higher technologiy content.
The 06 SUV comes in five variants with suggested retail prices ranging from CNY118,600 to CNY158,600 (US$17,340 to $23,200). Two powertrains are available, a 1.5-litre petrol 175hp engine coupled to a seven speed, dual clutch transmission or a plug in hybrid system.
Geely sales in the first half of 2020, including those of Lynk & Co, fell by 19% year on year to 530,446 units.
