Headed by chairman Zhang Liping, who founded local small EV manufacturer Yogomo 10 years ago, LinkTour said it planned to launch five new energy vehicle models by the end of 2019.

The first of these, the K-One small SUV which the company claims has a range of 460km on a single charge, is scheduled to be launched in November.

Zhang said GWM would help with quality control and supplier management which he said would give it an edge over its rivals in the market.

The vehicles would use battery swap systems to help overcome gaps in China’s recharging network, especially in smaller cities.
