South Korea's LG Electronics has restructured its global automotive systems production network to focus on global growth opportunities, according to local reports citing industry insiders.
As part of the plan, the company recently closed its infotainment systems plant in Kunshan, southeastern China, which made audio, video and navigation (AVN) systems, to improve overall manufacturing efficiency.

In doing so, LG Electronics has consolidated its overseas vehicle infotainment systems production at its plant in Haiphong in Vietnam.
The company's plant in Nanjing, China, will remain one of its main overseas production plants for electric vehicle (EV) powertrain systems.
Last year the company announced a US$300m investment to increase Nanjing capacity to supply global markets excluding South Korea.
LG also agreed to establish a new EV powertrain systems joint venture with Magna International last year while, in 2018, its acquired Austrian automotive lighting manufacturer ZKW Group.
LG's two main automotive facilities in South Korea include an EV powertrain systems plant in Incheon and an infotainment systems plant in Pyeongtaek, south of Seoul.
