A week before the US gets to mark Labor Day, we here in the UK are having Monday off, the ‘bank holiday’ that signals the end of what, we, with a straight face, call ‘summer’.
This year, apart from a few ‘scorchers’ in July, if memory serves, it’s been anything but; this will not stop us optimistically stocking up on BBQ fixings and preparing to do those last few pre-winter chores around the place this last three-day weekend of the year.
