Nissan said the fault lies with an insufficiently tightened bolt used in the steering wheel but that there was no danger of sudden failure. It said it would fix the problem by tightening the bolts or replacing steering wheels entirely. The repair will take about 15 minutes.

Earlier this month, Nissan recalled 500,000 vehicles globally over a defect in passenger airbags.
