Toyota’s cumulative vehicle production in Taiwan has passed 2m units amid the automaker’s drive to expand overseas output and boost sales of hybrid cars.

The automaker has been producing vehicles including the Corolla for export to the Middle East and the Camry at Kuozui Motors, its first production base in Taiwan established in 1984. Production of the Camry Hybrid started in February, becoming the company’s first hybrid model to be made in Taiwan, Kyodo News reported.
