Group sales in Japan were off 3.5% to 190,790 units while Toyota was down 6.4% to 130,182.
Exports of Toyota models from Japan rose 3.3% to 225,189 units while group shipments were up 2.8% to 244,265.
Overseas production of Toyota brand vehicles slipped 2.3% to 351,534 units; group output was off 0.6% at 362,948 units.
For the calendar year to the end of September, output rose 3.2% to 7,212,996 units. Toyota brand production was up 2.7% to 6,440,877 units.
Overseas production in the period was up 5% for the group to 3,390,025 and 3.9% to 3,302,750 for Toyota.
