Toyota group worldwide production rose 10.2% to 812,147 units in July, a month in which it axed 450,000 units from its anticipated 2008 production tally and 350,000 from the sales forecast.

Toyota output alone rose 9% to 720,923 units last month.


Japan production was up 18.1% to 451,187 units with Toyota up 19.1% to 370,572.


Japan sales also rose 4.7% to 197,451 for the group and 4.8% to 141,535 for Toyota, the first rise in three months.


Group exports from Japan rose 12.5% to 246,809 (Toyota: up 14.5% to 229,941; the first increase in two months, due to increased shipments mainly to Asia, Europe and the Middle East).


Overseas production rose 1.1% to 360,960 with Toyota inching up just 0.1% to 350,531 as production rose in Asia and Latin America.


Year to date, Japanese production was up 4.2% to 3,076,249 (Toyota: 4.4%, 2,529,232) with sales there off 0.8% to 1,375,073 (Toyota: -1.2%, 949,587).


Exports from Japan were up 4.8% to 1,712,094 (Toyota: 4.9%, 1,585,791).


Overseas production rose 8.9% to 2,720,778 units (Toyota: 8%, 2,655,570) and total global production was up 6.4% to 5,797,027 (Toyota: 6.2%, 5,184,802).
