The Toyota Corolla was the best-selling car in Japan in February, according to the Japan Automobile Dealers Association and reported by Kyodo News. Toyota sold 12,706 Corollas, down 8% on a year earlier.

Six other Toyota cars ranked in the top 10, including the Estima (Previa), Vitz (Yaris), bB, Ractis, Wish and the Alphard. The new Estima, launched in January, ranked second with sales of 10,433 units.
Two Nissan cars were in the top 10. The Serena MPV ranked fourth, while the Note ranked 10th.
The remaining model was the Honda Fit (Jazz), ranked 6th, with sales of 8,870 units.
Sales of imported vehicles, including those produced by Japanese manufacturers, rose 3.4% to 20,205 units, according to the Japan Automobile Importers Association.
Sales of foreign-brand vehicles increased 5.0% to 18,817 units, with Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz and BMW the top selling import brands.
Volkswagen sold 4,667 units, up 0.9% from a year ago, Mercedes-Benz 3,936 units, up 39.2%, and BMW 3,032 units, up 6.6%.
