Toyota vehicles took the top three places on the new vehicle sales chart in Japan in November for the second month running, an industry group said Wednesday.

The Corolla retained the top spot, with the Vitz (Yaris) and Estima (Previa) minivan taking second and third places respectively, the Japan Automobile Dealers Association told Kyodo News.
Toyota also dominated the top-10 list, sitting in seven slots with the Prius hybrid and Crown luxury sedans placed fifth and seventh respectively and the Wish minivan and the Passo compact ninth and 10th.
Sales of the redesigned Corolla launched in October, came to 17,132 units, a hefty 48.1% increase year-on-year. Vitz sales rose 9.7% to 9,870 units and Estima volume more than tripled to 7,908 units.
Honda’s Fit (Jazz), down 27.8% to 7,350 units and Step WGN minivan (down 17.9% to 5,826) ranked fourth and sixth, respectively.
Only one Nissan vehicle, the Serena minivan, made it onto the top-10 list, retaining eighth place with sales of 5,517 units, down 3.9%.
No Mitsubishi or Mazda cars made it onto the top-10 list, Kyodo News noted.
