Toyota Boshoku has developed a driver’s seat with ventilation and heaters with Toyota Motor and Denso.

The new seat is installed in the redesigned Corolla model that went on sale in May. It is is the first time seat ventilation has been installed in a compact car in Japan.

The newly developed seat ventilation system enables hot or cool air to flow from the driver’s seat and seat back. A compact centrifugal fan is built into the seat and fabric with superior ventilation characteristics has been adopted.

The seat ventilation system is standard on a top model.

The supplier hopes the system will be adopted for other models in all sectors.
