Toyota and General Motors have agreed to extend their alliance to develop environmentally friendly technology for two more years, Toyota executive vice president Katsuaki Wantanabe told journalists on Wednesday, according to Dow Jones Newswires.

The report said the two carmakers initially agreed to jointly develop green technology focusing on electric, hybrid and fuel-cell vehicles.
Dow Jones noted that the companies’ initial agreement was scheduled to expire in March 2004 and Wantanabe reportedly said the extended agreement will focus on developing fuel-cell vehicles.
