Takata is taking more special losses related to airbag recalls as it forecast that it will record a loss of 25bn yen in the year to the end of March 2015.

The new forecast loss for the current fiscal year is up on the previous figure of 24bn yen.

Takata had already booked a special loss of 45bn yen for the April-June period for airbag recall costs but will now take an additional special loss of 2.3bn yen for additional recalls announced recently by a number of OEMs.

Takata also reported a loss for the July-September period of 35bn yen which compares with a 769m yen profit a year earlier.

The company is embroiled in global airbag recall involving over 12m airbags and ten OEMs.
