Besides the Wagon R and the Tanto, four other minicars, including Daihatsu’s fourth-placed Move, made it to the top 10 best-selling cars, according to the Japan Automobile Dealers Association and the Japan Mini Vehicles Association.


The Wagon R remained the best-selling car, although it incurred a 9.9% drop in sales from a year earlier to 15,480 units, Kyodo news reported.


The Fit rang up sales of 14,854 units, scoring a 104.4% jump, thanks to the launch of a new range.


The Tanto saw sales of 13,691, up 92.7%.

Daihatsu’s Move came in fourth, selling 12,260 units, down 19.3%.


Toyota Motor Co.’s Corolla subcompact dropped one place to fifth place selling 10,577 units, up 10.1%. Toyota’s Crown ranked sixth with sales of 10,256 units, up 155.3% after a model changeover in February.
