Toyota Motor small car unit Daihatsu Motor will start two shift vehicle production at its Shiga plant and at Daihatsu Kyushu Oita Plant (Plant 1, Plant 2) from 6 May.

“We will continue one-shift operation at DMC Head (Ikeda) Plant and Kyoto Plant from 10 May,” the automaker said in a statement.

“Because of unstable parts supply, production may be delayed or cancelled in some models or grades.

“We will continue production of after market parts and of parts for overseas production (including knocked down parts).”

The production schedule after June will be made later after assessing the parts supply situation, Daihatsu said.
