Nissan Motor will return to normal production levels globally in October, after Japan’s 11 March devastating earthquake and tsunami disrupted supply chains and forced factory stoppages, chief executive Carlos Ghosn said on Thursday.
At a news conference following the announcement of the carmaker’s January-March earnings, Ghosn said there was no change to his strategy of producing 1mvehicles a year in Japan, a Reuters report noted.

Toyota said on Wednesday (11 May 2011) it now sees average output in Japan and elsewhere recovering to about 70% of plans before the quake in June, instead of 50% in Japan and 40% abroad. Its Australian unit said normal production would resume in the first week of June.
