Honda Motor has said it was considering delaying its earnings announcement as the company deals with damage control and production suspensions caused by the earthquake off Japan’s eastern coast this month.

“We’re considering it, but nothing has been decided,” a spokesman told Reuters.

Honda typically announces its fourth-quarter results in the last week of April.

Its R&D facility and a factory in Tochigi were damaged by the earthquake with one employee killed by a falling cafeteria wall and about 13 others injured.

The automaker last week postponed the recruiting process for its 1 April 2012 new-hire intake.
