Vehicle output in Japan rose 10.1% year on year in October to 871,434 units, a second straight monthly increase.
The Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association said passenger car production rose 9.6% to 744,908 units for the second consecutive monthly rise and truck output rose 14.9% to 115,607 units, although bus output fell 2.8% to 10,919.

Cumulative January to October output slipped 5.6% to 7,997,055.
October exports rose 6.5% to 407,709, the third consecutive monthly increase, JAMA said. Passenger car exports rose 7.2% to 359,293 and trucks rose 3.7% to 37,102. Bus exports fell 3.8% to 11,314.
Exports to the US grew 9.9% to 159,605, a fifth straight monthly rise, while those to Asia jumped 32.3% to 48,078 units, the first rise in 15 months.
Exports to Europe dropped, however, down 7.5% to 62,084 units.
Cumulative worldwide exports in the first 10 months of 2013 slipped 3.5% to 3,879,394 JAMA said.
