Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus and Nissan Motor have agreed a deal for Nissan’s NV350 Urvan to be supplied to Fuso on an OEM basis for export.
The agreement is the latest part of a partnership between Daimler and the Renault-Nissan alliance announced in April 2010.

A formal contract will be concluded later to determine specifics of the OEM supply timing and volumes.
Mitsubishi Fuso and Nissan already swap models on the OEM basis. Fuso supplies its two tonne Canter light duty truck to Nissan which, in return, makes versions of its 1.5 tonne Atlas F24 light duty truck to Fuso.
MFTBC President & CEO Albert Kirchmann said: “The agreement today is a next successful step after our mutual supply of light duty trucks already running in Japan and represents a second real synergy taking place under the strategic partnership by Daimler AG and Renault-Nissan Alliance.
“We will be starting the sale of commercial vans for the first time in our history.”
Nissan chief operating officer Toshiyuki Shiga said: “We hope this will lead to improved production efficiency in Japan.”
