Nissan is to start selling the problem-solving expertise of its boss Carlos Ghosn, reported the Nikkei business newspaper.

The carmaker believes it can boost its brand image by offering a consulting service that instructs other firms in its V-up programme, a management tool implemented in 2001 to promote reforms developed by Ghosn.

V-up incorporates a cross-functional team where members from different divisions review a problem. It aims for solutions by employing diagrams to visualise the issue.

Through the new service, Nissan will dispatch several workers as consultants to help other firms come up with solutions, as well as support the cultivation of core employees to manage V-up.
