Nissan has announced it will launch 13 new commercial vehicles in the next five years.
According to Reuters, the company announced it would use the new vehicles to help double revenues from its commercial vehicle unit to 980bn yen ($9.5bn) by 2013.
Nissan sold 519,703 light commercial vehicles (less than 8 tonnes) in the 2007/08 financial year. Revenue from the sector was 490bn yen ($4.8bn). Operating profit was more than eight percent.
Sales growth will come from entering the Russian market later this year, and the Indian and US markets in 2010. Nissan’s total 2007/08 revenues were 10.8 trillion yen.
