Nissan Motor is to recall close to half a million vehicles because of faulty wiring and brake lamps though no accidents have been reported because of the faults.
The recall of 435,400 vehicles in various global markets covers the Serena minivan and Tiida [aka Versa] compact car, but also affects Suzuki’s Landy minivans, which Nissan supplies.
Most of the vehicles were sold in Japan but a number were also sold in Hong Kong, Dubai and Australia,
The automaker said the Serena engines can cut out and fail to restart due to the wiring problems, while a lubrication issue in the Tiida can lead to brake lamps going out.
