Nissan Motor plans to introduce five new Venucia brand models and raise annual sales cars in China to 300,000 units by 2015.

The local joint venture with Dongfeng Motor is using the new Venucia brand to target those in inland China purchasing their first car with low prices competitive with local automakers’ products, Kyodo News noted.

The JV launched the D50 sedan as the brand’s first model in late April and sold around 7,700 units in about a month.

Dongfeng president Kimiyasu Nakamura told a a press conference in Nissan’s home base of Yokohama, Japan: “While the markets in coastal regions are slowing down, demand inland is more than offsetting the slowdown.”
