A Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) agreement with Nissan Motor to expand business collaboration announced in December last year has resulted in a new Delica/L300 van line based on Nissan’s NV200.
The new Delica D:3 and Delica van are both supplied to MMC by Nissan Motor on an OEM basis.
The new two-box Delica van fits into the same size class as the current long-serving one-box model and offers class leading load carrying capacity as well as fuel economy that qualifies it for Japanese eco-car tax incentives. MMC has axed the truck variant from the range.
The Delica D:3 is offered in two trims: the G level which accommodates seven passengers in three rows of seats while the M trim level accommodates five passengers in two rows of seats.
The model has a 1.6-litre petrol engine with electronically controlled four-speed automatic transmission.
Safety features include airbags for driver and front passenger and anti-lock braking with electronically controlled brake force distribution and brake assist.
