”It is difficult for an automaker to develop all sorts of technologies single-handedly,” a Nissan official is quoted as saying, adding the carmaker has already started to look at the transfer business.

Nissan has previously said it had developed an accelerator pedal which could improve fuel efficiency by 5-10%.

When the eco-pedal system is on, each time the driver applies the accelerator, a counter push-back control mechanism is activated if the system detects excess pressure, helping to inform the driver they could be using more fuel than required.

No details are available as to which other manufacturers Nissan might be talking.
