JAPAN: Nissan Motor and Nissan Diesel discuss light truck joint venture – report
Nissan Motor is talking with affiliate Nissan Diesel Motor about a venture to develop light trucks jointly, after scrapping negotiations it began earlier with Isuzu Motors, the trade newspaper Automotive News reported.

The paper noted that Nissan and Renault SA each own 22.5% of the financially troubled Nissan Diesel while Renault owns 44% of Nissan.
According to Automotive News, Nissan president Carlos Ghosn declined to confirm local press reports that the venture would produce two-ton trucks to meet strict diesel engine emissions to be introduced in 2005.
