The news agency reported that the system, which also saves paint by eliminating the hoses attached to the finish-line coating robots, will be introduced at Nissan’s main car plant, in Fukuoka, southern Japan.
It will be rolled out at other domestic sites later the company said in a statement.
Nissan has already spent 6 billion yen to renew the finish line at the Fukuoka plant. The additional 5 billion yen would be invested by May 2007 on the two other sections of the painting line.
